Last week I wrote about how spring is upon us now its time to hit the refresh button on our homes starting with our front doors. If you have not read last weeks post yet you can read it HERE. This week I want to contiune with our Front Door Refresh series and focus on lighting and our entry ways, so lets get stated!

Lighting is a functional and decorative item that can make a big impact on your entrance. You don’t need to be limited to styles that match the style of home you have, choose what you like. It can be a fun juxtaposition to have a vintage fixture on a modern home or vice versa. Use address numbers to take your lighting theme one step further, selecting a style that complements your house and coordinates with the style of lighting you have. The finish (black, brass, silver) does not have to match but the overall theme should appear cohesive.

Lastly, accessorize your entry way by adding a large vase (or two or five) with some potted plants or greenery. The urns can match your door or be a complementary colour. Pick a shape and size that relates to the amount of space you have (make sure there’s room for people to reach the door!)
